Episode 2: 7 June: Episode 2 covers the Battles at Savate (1980) and Caiundo (1983) and gives some information of what daily life was like while serving in one of the few South African military bases which were situated behind enemy lines inside Angola, named Ionde. Episode 5: 19 July 2026: Episode 5 takes you on a tour through the small towns and villages north of Ondjiva, such as Vintecete (1987), Mupa Mission and Evale (1982-83). Episode 6: 2 August 2026: Episode 6 tells fasinating stories of major battles which were fought at Ongulumbashe (1966), Eheke (1977), and Iona (Ops Super 1982) and sheds more light on Operation Savannah (1975/6). https://www.youtube.com/@Angolanwar
Episode 7: 16 August 2026: Episode 7 discusses the attacks on Cahama (1983) and the important battle at Smokshell (1980). The last episode of the series also provides details of how the war reached its climax in the Techepa and Calueque areas (1988), and it presents a fascinating story about how the war was ended (1988). Bonus Episode 8: 23 August 2026: It is in Afrikaans and English: This bonus episode 8 is about a relatively unknown military fight which took place during the early days of the war, on 26 August 1969. It is generally accepted as South Africa's first military action on foreign soil since WW2. The two SAAF helicopter pilots involved herein share their recollections of this incident.
